The New Blue Parrot Presents Pirates of Penzance
Vancouver USA Theatre
Gilbert and Sullivan’s musical mayhem, The Pirates of Penzance tells the wacky tale of Frederic - as a child apprenticed to a band of tenderhearted pirates by his nurse who, being hard of hearing, thought she apprenticed the boy to a pilot! Frederic, completing his 21st year, thinks he has finished his apprenticeship and is now free to return to respectable society. But being born on February 29 in leap year, the pirates decide he must remain until his 21st birthday. By the end , the swashbucklers, a Major General, his large family of beautiful but unwed daughters, Mabel (who loves Frederic) and a platoon of comic cops have more fun than a whole sea of Caribbean pirates could ever have!

The New Blue Parrot Presents Fiddler on the Roof
Vancouver USA Theatre
Fiddler on the Roof takes place in Anatevka, a small turn-of-the-century peasant Jewish village in Czarist Russia. The story revolves around the poor milkman/philosopher Tevye who schemes to marry off his five daughters according to his family''s ‘traditions’. Tevye, one of the most memorable characters of the musical stage, is a religious Jew who has personal conversations with God. When his eldest daughter, Tzeitel, begs him to let her marry a poor tailor (with whom she has fallen in love) rather than the middle-aged butcher that he has already chosen for her, Tevye must choose between his own daughter''s happiness and his beloved beliefs. Meanwhile, there are oppressive forces at work in Anatevka which force Tevye and his fellow villagers from their homes. When the community realizes that their world has changed they set out to find new lives in a new land, taking with them their few possessions and their abiding faith.

The New Blue ParrotTheatre Presents Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
Vancouver USA Theatre
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
The Wild West explodes on stage in this adventurous adaptation of the Broadway and movie classic. Beloved for its rousing songs and show-stopping dance numbers, this production authentically evokes the 1850s Oregon wilderness. When young Millie marries mountain man Adam, she thinks her life just got easier...until she meets his six brothers! It doesn't take long for her to whip this rough and tumble group of boys into shape, and soon, all the brothers can think about is finding wives of their own. But Millie's plan - and marriage - goes terribly awry after the boys kidnap six women from the local town in hopes of finding brides. When an avalanche traps them all on the mountain for the winter, the boys get a golden opportunity. But will they be able to melt six icy hearts in time for one big, beautiful spring wedding? This is a lively production you won't want to miss!
