In 2005, The New Blue Parrot Children’s Theatre opens its doors to the youth of Clark County with the productions of Bye, Bye Birdie and The Wizard of Oz. Headed by Artistic Director Jennifer Johnson, the theatre operates as a workshop, and everyone who auditions is cast.

The cost for each production is $75—and $50 for each sibling thereafter. The workshop fee includes at least six weeks of instruction in acting, dancing and voice. Each performer needs to supply his/her own make-up, shoes, socks/tights, and minor costume accessories. Each performer needs to supply his/her own costume, make-up, shoes, and socks/tights, and minor costume accessories. In a parent, guardian, or family member is required to contribute 10 hours of volunteer time per child. Please view the Volunteer tab to look at different positions that need to be filled.

Two scholarships will be sponsored by Evergreen Community Education for workshop fees. Applications are due one week prior to auditions. Mail to P.O. Box 665 Washougal, WA 98671.

At the beginning of every production there will be a mandatory Parent’s Meeting where parents will be able to sign-up for volunteer positions and ask any questions they might have. We look forward to working with your children!
